17 September was D-Day for Operation
Market Garden. In this part of the website Operation Market Garden will followed
by day. Just choose the date in the list and click the button, or you can
follow/continue the tour by following the soldier.
The events of each day will be divided into four sections:
1. British 1st Airborne
Division, including the Polish 1st Parachutists Brigade
2. American 82nd Airborne Division, "All American"
3. American 101st Airborne Division, "Screaming Eagles"
4. British XXX Corps
Note: because actions of XXX Corps after link-up with the airborne forces are carried out together with the paratroopers frequently, their contribution will be mentioned in the section of the involved airborne division. Hyperlinks in the section of XXX Corps will bring you to that specific part and after day 5 (21 September) XXX Corps will have no section their own anymore.
